OIL REFINERY FLARE SYSTEMS

Flare Systems are an integral part of the Oil Refinery operational safety systems. Yet, it is usually only possible to conduct cleaning and inspection work at major Turnarounds. Focusing on three areas during our 30 years of chemical decontamination services. Flare headers on the process area; Flare Knock-Out Drums; and the Main Flare Line that runs from the Process Plant to the Flare Stack.

Decontamination of Flare Headers and Flare K.O. Drums is possible chemically using hot aqueous solutions of CORE products. In addition to this, a closed-loop Oxidation wash, to completely eliminate H2S and pyrophoric FeS issues upon opening.

It is possible to decontaminate Main Flare lines, hundreds of metres long, by washing the ‘bottom’ of the Flare line. This is by using an aqueous formulation, while simultaneously Vapour Phase decontaminating the “headspace”.
