Crude Preheat Exchangers
Due to the very nature of feedstocks, preheat exchangers will inevitably foul. On Crude Preheat Trains, the fouling is predominantly on the ‘crude oil’ side. This is until you reach the hotter sections, when there may be fouling on both sides. The impact on the process can be severe. Consequently, as heat transfer performance drops, increasing the load on the Heater, and potentially reducing throughput.
Traditionally, removal of fouling is by High-Pressure Water Jetting, requiring exchanger bundle extraction and transport to the wash bay for cleaning. This can take several days and requires significant mechanical preparation. While the exchanger is out of service, throughput may be reduced.
CORE’s unique formulations allow decontamination of the entire Preheat Trains in-situ at Turnarounds, As a result, removing the need for bundle extraction and jetting. You can wash the exchangers in a single, large closed loop, using aqueous or oil-based solutions, in only 36 hours.
