AMINE SYSTEM DECONTAMINATION

These systems can possess contamination from a variety of ways. As a result, they require decontamination at Turnarounds, before any man-entry and maintenance work can commence. For several decades, the CORE team of specialists developed a suite of services. These include decontamination chemicals and bespoke procedures for Oil Refinery Amine Systems, with outstanding results. As a consequence, our expert input in a number of case studies involving amine systems has proven vital in an efficient return to capacity.

In most cases, we propose a cascade-washing approach to Amine columns. Following this is a total flood of exchangers and reboilers, using Core Clean products, with an Oxidation rinse to remove any remaining sulphides. In addition, if there’s a corrosion scale build-up, a suggestion is acid wash after oxidation. This is followed by a passivation stage, to protect the metallurgy on start-up.

Where the system contains a high degree of Stainless Steel, a ‘pre-passivation’ may be necessary. This is to protect against chloride stress corrosion, which we can also assist with.

You can find out more about these products or can discuss with us how these can form a part of your wider strategy. As a result, our expert team at CORE are on hand to discuss your exact requirements and potential solutions.
